The Los Angeles Rams may not have Puka Nacua for Monday night's game against the New York Giants thanks to a groin injury that has him trending the wrong direction. That would also leave bettors without their best option to score a touchdown in the game.
No worries. There's still more than a few alternates to throw a few bucks at. That includes the running backs for each team, though I believe the split workload of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum make both a risky play. And I'll explain below why I'm not riding Cam Skattebo this week either
These are my favorite anytime touchdown scorer picks for the game.
Isaiah Likely (+280)
After his two-touchdown performance in Week 1, where he also recorded a team-high eight catches for 78 yards, why wouldn't you roll with the
hot hand. LA's defense probably isn't as bad as it looked in Week 1, but the big body of Mike Evans appeared to give them some trouble. Likely can replicate that success.
Davante Adams (-130)
The Giants' best defense against CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens last week was a good offense that kept Dallas off the field. That'll be tougher to do against a better Rams defense, which means Adams could see the field a little more than Dallas' duo and, at the very least, replicate Lamb's five-catch, one-touchdown performance against the Giants' shaky corners.
Jaxson Dart (+230)
The 49ers found decent success on the ground against the Rams, which may tempt bettors to take Cam Skattebo (+110) this week. I was certainly tempted. But I think LA is likely better than what it showed that game, considering it only allowed six rushing touchdowns all last season. Not to mention, Aaron Donald's return should bolster the interior even more. That could leave Dart scrambling to make things happen in the pass game, where Purdy actually found decent success as less of a runner last week with 29 yards on the ground.
