One of the best games on the Week 1 early slate takes us to Houston as a pair of playoff teams from a year ago look to start the season 1-0.
The Texans are looking for a better year from CJ Stroud and the offense after they struggled to protect him last season, limiting how far they could go in the postseason despite boasting an elite defense. They'll open the year against the Buffalo Bills, which also addressed some of their shortcomings from last year this offseason, adding a true No. 1 receiver in DJ Moore.
If you are looking for some betting advice for the matchup, we've got you covered. Here are the latest odds, courtesy of FanDuel.

Texans vs. Bills injury report:

Texans vs. Bills prediction, pick:
Houston should have a premier defense once again in 2026, and it will hope some of its
offensive additions can make Stroud's life a bit easier. It brought in receiver Kayshon Boutte this offseason, as well as a pair of new offensive line starters in free agent signee Evan Brown and rookie left guard Keylan Rutledge.
The Bills had one of the NFL's better passing defenses last year, but it struggled against the run. They didn't add much up front but are hoping for some development from second-year players TJ Sanders and Deone Walker. The offense looks mostly the same outside of Moore's addition.
It feels like a major risk taking the road favorite here, but I worry that the Texans haven't solved their protection issues this season. That's going to be a limiting factor in games like this.
Prediction: Bills 27, Texans 23
