The San Francisco 49ers are no stranger to injuries, but this is a rough one for wide receiver Mike Evans.
On Sunday, Evans was active on the roster to play in the 49ers Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals
after dealing with a hip issue earlier in the week. Evans made an impact early for San Francisco, putting up 3 receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown as the 49ers jumped on the Cardinals early. However, late in the second quarter, Evans took a hard hit to his torso on a catch as he was sandwiched between two Cardinals defenders. Evans stuck around in the game for a few more plays before coming up wincing and holding his right side at the end of an incomplete pass. The 49ers wide receiver needed assistance to exit the field, as he looked
to be in a lot of pain after the play.
Evans was eventually carted to the 49ers locker room after exiting the game.

Mike Evans appears injured and is in a ton of pain. Almost looks like he can’t breathe. Just dropped down to a knee on the sideline and trying to catch his breath.

Hopefully not a lung or vital organ issue. pic.twitter.com/IYNprrCghD
The 49ers entered halftime up 17-6 on the Cardinals, though no immediate update was given on Evans' status. Coming out of the half, however, San Francisco announced that Evans would be out for the rest of the game due to a rib injury.
