Philadelphia came back to beat the Tennessee Titans and secure a 2-0 start on Sunday, but it wasn't all good news.
The Eagles lost tight end Dallas Goedert to a knee injury in the game, and on Monday, it was reported that the eighth-year veteran suffered a sprained MCL and will miss at least "a few weeks," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. However, Philly fans will be pleased to know that in the meantime, the team could be replacing him in the lineup with a familiar face.
Philadelphia moved quickly on Monday after Goedert's injury was diagnosed, signing veteran tight end and former Eagle Zach Ertz to its practice squad. The 35-year-old played for the franchise from 2013-21, and he was a free agent after his 2025 season with the Washington Commanders
ended with him being placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Now nine months removed from that injury, Ertz could be set to make an NFL comeback. Ertz was a 1,000-yard receiver for Philly in 2018, one of three straight seasons he was named a Pro Bowler from 2017-19.
His last two years in Washington were fairly productive. In 2024, Ertz totaled 654 yards and seven catches, and last year, he totaled 504 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games before his season-ending injury.
Quite a few Philadelphia fans were calling for the team to bring Ertz back when Goedert's injury was revealed, and it seems they've now gotten their wish.
