Ladd McConkey picked up where he left off last season as the Los Angeles Chargers' leading receiver, catching five passes for 82 yards and a touchdown in their Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. But he may be compromised as the team looks to bounce back Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
McConkey was considered day-to-day this week after suffering a cracked rib in the loss. However, there's optimism he could play after practicing Friday and improving more rapidly than anticipating, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The team opted not to elevate another receiver to the roster this week. That's a good sign for McConkey, who's expected to wear a flak jacket if he does end up playing, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Should I start Ladd McConkey?
Yes, if he's active and expected to take a regular snap count. The Raiders' secondary gave up some big plays in their Week 1 win over the Dolphins, against players who probably aren't better than McConkey. However, have a backup option ready to go from the late afternoon slate of games.
