For nearly 57 minutes of game time, a showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars was an act of international hostility against the good people of London.
With fewer than four minutes to play, their Week 5 matchup was a 14-10 slog. The Eagles' offensive issues were laid bare, from awful playcalling to the injuries that have taken both their top running back (Saquon Barkley) and wide receiver (DeVonta Smith) out of the lineup. The Jaguars were interested mostly in shooting themselves in the foot, racking up 13 penalties for an even 100 yards marched backward.
Jacksonville looked cooked after multiple first-and-goal situations from the Philadelphia one-yard line ended without a touchdown. Nothing sums up just how frustrating
this game was to watch quite like the Jags' timeout-penalty-play-penalty-play-penalty fourth quarter sequence that was primed to let a bad Eagles team off the hook.
no one is doing it like the Jags

This, at least, broke up the monotony of a fourth quarter in which Philadelphia stacked three straight three-and-outs, gaining negative-five net yards in the process. But with another turnover on downs ready to sink the Jags, Parker Washington rose up and gave the United Kingdom crowd a payoff worthy of their investment in America's favorite sport.

While Cam Little missed the extra point, whittling a potential three-point lead into two, it seemed as though it would be enough to hold off an inefficient mess of a Philly offense. But that catch sparked the crowd and Jalen Hurts -- just not immediately. The two teams traded three-play possessions before the Eagles got the ball back with 1:46 in the game and zero timeouts. This was not an issue. Hurts overcame second-and-long to set Jake Elliott up for what looked like a game-winning field goal.
It cleared the uprights with eight seconds to play. Jacksonville, without a timeout in head coach Liam Coen's quiver, were destined for failure once more.
Ameer Abdullah flipped that script.
oh my god... they're gonna have a shot

Abdullah returned the kick deep into Eagles territory and was tackled with one second remaining on the clock. Little redeemed himself with a 57-yard walk-off field goal and the Jaguars escaped with a 19-17 win. Philadelphia, once 2-0, lost its third straight game and provided the fuel that will heat sports radio stations across the mid-Atlantic for weeks. And the fine football fans of England got to see a game that was largely unpleasant and then thoroughly unforgettable.
