Inde Navarrette has skyrocketed in popularity with Obsession becoming a surprise smash hit at the box office. Her unhinged performance helped propel Curry Barker's low-budget film to over $460 million globally, and it's also led to another massive acting opportunity.
The 25-year-old has met with the X-Men reboot director Jake Schreier, according to Variety. Navarrette didn't share the specifics of her conversation, but admitted to Variety "Mystique has always been super cool" when asked what role she could play in the film.
Mystique is one of Marvel's most iconic comic book characters. The blue-skinned mutant shapeshifter has been both an adversary and ally of the X-Men, and she's been portrayed on screen by Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence.
While Navarrette has yet to officially land an X-Men role, she's certainly in high demand. The Arizona native has reportedly met with Michael Mann with Heat 2 casting underway, plus she's in talks to start in A24's R-rated puppet film Goblin, according to entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider.
The future appears to be bright for Navarrette.
