Nebraska football landed in the 22nd spot in the ESPN FPI Rankings after Week 1. The Huskers came in with a 11.3 score after beating the Ohio Bobcats 49-21.
The game started off slow for the Huskers, leading Ohio by a 14-13 margin at halftime. However, they settled down in the second half and took control on both sides of the ball.
The ESPN FPI rankings don't tell the whole story. However, they are an interesting metric for gauging where teams stand over the course of the season.
As far as the Huskers are concerned, they passed their first test, even if they struggled early on. They will now have a chance to face Bowling Green on Saturday evening.
