Nebraska football extended an invitation to 2028 quarterback Dominic Yancy for the season-opening game against Ohio. Yancy made the announcement on social media.
Yancy is a local quarterback from Omaha North. He is not rated in the On3 industry rankings at this time, but he is collecting interest from other teams. South Dakota and Wyoming have also contacted him in addition to the Huskers.
Yancy recorded 505 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions in 10 games played. He also added 26 carries for 145 yards and a touchdown. Yancey was particularly effective on the ground, averaging 14.5 yards per carry.
This is certainly an intriguing offer for the Huskers. They have been more selective in who they have shown interest in from the state
of Nebraska. Yancy’s recruitment will be interesting to watch as more talent continues to emerge from the state.
The Huskers don’t need a quarterback right now, with Trae Taylor in the fold. However, it’s best to recruit high school quarterbacks early, and the Huskers are doing a good job of getting out in front here.
