Nebraska center Justin Evans and linebacker Owen Chambliss made The Athletic’s Mid-Season All-American team. Evans has been a key part of the offensive line this season. The unit ranks top 40 nationally in total offense and scoring.
The lineman was also a preseason All-American by The Athletic and made the Rimington Trophy Watch List. Consistency has been a hallmark of his game, and he is showing it again this season.
Chambliss came to Nebraska from San Diego State in the transfer portal. He has 46 tackles, along with 3.5 tackles for loss and an interception over the course of six games.
He recorded 15 tackles against the Oregon Ducks in the program’s last game. The former San Diego State star is also on the Butkus Award Watch List for the nation’s
top linebacker.
Evans and Chambliss will undoubtedly be important for the stretch run. They have been key pieces for the program so far this season and have done their part.
