What is the story about?

Nebraska football has announced a home-and-home series with the University of Notre Dame. The Huskers and the Fighting Irish will first play at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Oct. 30, 2032, and then in South Bend for a game at Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 29, 2033

These two schools have met 16 times, with Nebraska holding an 8-7-1 all-time series lead. The last time the Huskers and the Fighting Irish played was a Nebraska 27-10 victory in 2001.

Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen believes this is a marquee matchup fans will look forward to for years.

“The series with Notre Dame is the type of matchup that college football fans circle on their calendars years in advance. Our fans have a tremendous appreciation for the history of college football and

iconic venues. We are excited to welcome Notre Dame and their fans to Lincoln in 2032, and I know our fans will travel to South Bend in full force in 2033.”

In the poll era, the schools have won 13 national titles combined, with the Fighting Irish winning eight championships and Nebraska winning five.
