A former Nebraska running back helped his team win Sunday after a strong special teams performance. Emmett Johnson had several key plays in the Kansas City Chiefs' 30-27 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Johnson had two kick returns for 49 yards, including a long of 25 yards. His biggest play of the day was as a gunner on the punt coverage team when he saved a ball from going into the end zone and downed the Raiders at the 1-yard-line.
The Chiefs selected Johnson in the fifth round with the 161st pick. The Minneapolis native was the first Husker running back selected in the NFL draft since the Detroit Lions selected Ameer Abdullah in the second round of the 2015 draft with the 54th pick.
