Nebraska hosts Maryland at Memorial Stadium this Saturday for the 2026 Homecoming game. The Huskers are coming off a 31-13 victory over Michigan State in their Big Ten opener.
Maryland is 2-2 on the season following a 54-3 loss to the UCLA Bruins. Saturday's game is only the fifth game between these two schools. Nebraska leads the all-time series 3-1.
Saturday's game is the 115th Homecoming game in program history. The Huskers are 87-23-4 in Homecoming games and are 11-2 against Big Ten teams.
The Huskers have announced a sellout for Saturday's game, but that doesn't impress Maryland coach Mike Locksley. Locksley met with the media earlier this week and made some interesting comments about Husker fans.
"It's one of those traditional, I always call
them the blue blood programs… Their fans support it 24/7. They are there win, lose, or draw, and really, it's a great venue to go play in. But it's not one of those intimidating ones that gets super loud. We're going to be really good with being able to control some of the crowd noise in the student section. But definitely one of the better places to go."
Kickoff between Nebraska and Maryland is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT and will air on FS1. Dan Hellie and Robert Smith will call the action at Memorial Stadium.

A different take
On the whole, if we’re being honest with ourselves, he’s not wrong. I don’t care if Maryland is 9-0 and the top ranked team in the country, they’re never going to move the needle like Colorado, Miami, Iowa, Texas are. BUT if it is CU, or UT, there is true menace in the air. https://t.co/VBpEqQbyC4

Bold
That's a bold thing to say considering he is coming in a 15 point dog. Don't think he needs to add any more motivation for a blow out. https://t.co/6FBvUbBZrb
