Nebraska football offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen gave praise to wide receiver Jacory Barney Jr. after the latter’s game against Indiana on Saturday.
Barney performed well despite the program's 20-17 loss. The playmaker recorded nine catches for 108 yards, averaging 12 yards per reception. It was his second 100-yard game of the season, and the junior sparked a Nebraska offense that needed every bit of it against a tough Hoosiers defense.
The offensive coordinator took notice and shouted out his wide receiver on Tuesday, as the team gets ready to play the Oregon Ducks on the road on Saturday night.
“His route-running, it looked the way it was supposed to look. He was in the spots he was supposed to be in… I thought he played a really good game
just overall from a route-running perspective.”
Barney has shown ample explosiveness at times this season. Saturday was the perfect example, as he showcased his speed and big-play ability. The Husker will need every bit of it as they look to play the spoiler role on the road and pick up their sixth win of the season.
