The US LBM Coaches Poll released its rankings following Week 2 of the college football season. Nebraska received multiple votes but remains outside the top 25.
The Huskers received 18 votes, their most of the season thus far. Florida (183), Louisville (160), Boise State (44), Kansas State (24), South Carolina (23), Mississippi State (20), Vanderbilt (19) and Duke (19) finished ahead of Nebraska in the voting. The Huskers were one of just two Big Ten teams to receive votes. UCLA received eight votes after taking down Cal and San Diego State.
Nebraska earned its 18 votes after its major 56-7 win over Bowling Green. The Huskers entered halftime up 35-0 after Anthony Colandrea threw four touchdowns, and Jamal Rule ran in from 59 yards out. Across
its first two games, Nebraska has outscored its opponents 105-28.
Indiana is the highest-ranked Big Ten team as of this week, earning the No. 4 slot after blowing out Howard 55-0. Ohio State dropped to No. 6 after a 24-23 loss to Texas, now No. 1. USC climbed to No. 11 after a 49-30 win over Louisiana to improve to 3-0.
Penn State moved up to No. 15 following a 27-9 victory at Temple. Oregon dropped to No. 18 after a 39-31 upset loss at Oklahoma State. Michigan jumped up to No. 19 after triumphing over No. 11 Oklahoma at home 17-10. Iowa is now No. 20 following a 16-13 win over Iowa State. Washington dropped to No. 24 after a close 16-14 win against Utah State.
