The Oregon Ducks will start quarterback Brock Thomas on Saturday evening against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Multiple media outlets confirmed this on Saturday morning.
Thomas is a senior and originally joined the program as a three-star walk-on. Measures in at five-foot-11, 182 pounds, and has some game experience. He has completed 26 of 36 career pass attempts for 302 yards and two touchdowns across 11 total appearances.
This news follows backup quarterback Dylan Raiola being benched against the UCLA Bruins last week. Thomas entered the game in relief and completed 11-of-15 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown. Now, he can lead the charge for the Ducks as they enter a must-win game.
It will be interesting to see how the Huskers' defense pressures
Thomas throughout and whether they can sustain that pressure all evening. This will be one of many interesting storylines and should be an exciting road contest.
