Nebraska soccer (2-2-3) opened up Big Ten play on Thursday night at home against Indiana (4-2-1). Despite being a strong defensive front, the Huskers fell in the end 1-0 in the final two minutes.
Indiana scored the lone goal in the 88th minute on its last shot of the match, getting it by Avery Gillahan in the bottom left part of the goal. Gillahan faced six shots on goal in the loss and finished with five saves. The Hoosiers totaled 12 shots on the night.
Nebraska finished with 11 shots but only put three on goal. Ava Makovicka earned two shots, one on goal for the Huskers. Sadie Sant and Carson Bohonek each delivered one shot on goal. Nathalie Lewis put up two shots.
Nebraska hits the road for its next match, taking Interstate 80 out to Iowa City
for a battle with No. 25 Iowa. The match is set for 1 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
