Illinois defeated Nebraska 24-13 in a frustrating game that reflected the team's struggles this season.
The program had four drives of 11-plus points on Friday night. All of them were scoreless. This is quite the juxtaposition with the stat sheet. Nebraska had 426 yards of total offense, including 142 rushing yards. Nevertheless, they were unsuccessful on the field and missed field goals in the first half. That set the tone for the rest of the game, as Nebraska couldn't get anything going offensively.
Defensively, Illinois had their way with a normally stout unit. Illinois quarterback Katin Houser threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns. Colin Dixon had eight catches for 129 yards. Matched up against Andrew Marshall, Dixon got the better of him.
The defense allowed 376 yards overall.
Overall, it was a rough night for the Huskers as they have now lost four games in a row. His friends were understandably angry on social media.
Special teams are under the microscope
Brett Maher won't be Nebraska's special teams coordinator in 2027.

The playcalling was questionable
Empty set on 4th and one. I’m sure that’s what Dana calls balance.

Very true
Bret Bielema is 4-1 against Nebraska, which has a lot to do with Illinois moving up and the Huskers staying buried in the Big Ten.

Nebraska under Rhule is the most un-clutch program in the country.
