Nebraska linebacker Owen Chambliss talked about returning to the field following an injury that kept him out for the team's season opener against Ohio. In his Husker debut, he finished with 4 tackles in Saturday’s 56-7 win over Bowling Green.
With the victory, Nebraska improved to 2-0 on the season for the third straight year. The victory is Nebraska’s 10th straight win in regular-season non-conference play dating back to the 2023 season.
After surrendering 303 yards in Week 1 to Ohio, the Blackshirts responded in a big way, holding the Falcons to 169 total yards. Bowling Green was held to 2 of 12 on 3rd down and had two turnovers.
Chamblis was asked about getting back onto the field and into the swing of things. He told the assembled media that
he was actually nervous before the game.
“It felt amazing. Super anxious before the game, just wanted to get back out there with the guys. It felt amazing to step out there and play.”
Nebraska returns to action next Saturday, hosting North Dakota at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. CT and will air on the Big Ten Network.
