What is the story about?

Former Nebraska basketball forward Rienk Mast signed a training camp deal with the Indiana Pacers earlier this week. Mast was one of four players to sign a deal with the team.

This continues an incredible year for Mast. He is coming off a senior season in which he was an integral part of the Huskers' run to the Sweet 16. He averaged 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

Mast carried that momentum into the Summer League. He played in four games, starting three. He averaged 15.3 points and nine rebounds per game. The rebounds were tied for sixth among all players in the Las Vegas Summer League. The playmaker played a major role, averaging 27.6 minutes per game.

This is major news for a player who thrived under Fred Hoiberg and the

coaching staff. It will be interesting to see how Mast does the rest of the way, as his skill set fits the NBA.
