It's not a given that theIndianapolis Colts trade running back Jonathan Taylor. However, if they do, there appear to be two teams that are the favorites to land him.
According to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic, those two teams are the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants.
"The Vikings and Giants appear to be the favorites to land him if he’s dealt, but he can’t fit under Minnesota’s cap right now, Jones wrote. "So either the Vikings would have to rearrange a deal or two, or the Colts would have to eat some of his salary, which would likely drive the price up for the acquiring team."
While early reports suggested that the Colts wanted to hold to Taylor as part of the rebuild, the latest intel suggests that Indianapolis is at least listening
to other teams.
Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday that multiple teams have reached out to the Colts about Taylor, with talks "active and ongoing."
Tom Pelissero then reported that the Colts have turned down an offer for a 2027 second-round pick plus an additional draft pick for Taylor.
Although Taylor just signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension prior to the season, thecontract is movable if needed.
The situation seems to be very fluid at the moment.
