The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a significant rest advantage over the Indianapolis Colts this week.
In one respect, the Steelers are coming off a Thursday night game, while the Colts played last Sunday. So Pittsburgh has banked a few additional days of rest.
But more noteworthy is that the Colts are also coming off a trip to London, where they played the Washington Commanders last week.
And oh yeah, the Colts are again the road team in this matchup, traveling to Pittsburgh for the Week 5 game.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio recently discussed the travel and rest discrepancy between these two teams this week:
"They're watching the Colts on Sunday morning playing in London," Florio said, via Steelers Wire. "The Colts have to come back from London, then
travel to Pittsburgh. Not that it's a long trip, but they've got to go to London, back from London, and then to Pittsburgh. And the Steelers had extra days plus a short trip. If I'm the Colts, I'm a little irritated by that."
This won't be the be-all, end-all when it comes to determining Sunday's outcome, but it isn't nothing either. Additional time between games and less travel means more time to prepare and rest up, while also avoiding fatigue.
The Steelers will have a distinct rest advantage entering Sunday's game.
