The Indianapolis Colts’ decision to place defensive endMicheal Clemons on injured reserve Tuesday created an opening for rookie Caden Curry.
The team’s latest unofficial depth chart reflects it.
Curry is now listed directly behind Laiatu Latu at defensive end, per Colts.com, after Clemons had occupied that No. 2 spot through the first two weeks. The sixth-round rookie has appeared in both games this season, recording three total tackles.
Indianapolis selected Curry with the No. 214 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft following a breakout final season at Ohio State. Curry led the Buckeyes with 11 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss in 2025, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors.
He also flashed during the preseason. In his debut against the New England
Patriots, Curry finished with five tackles, one sack, two quarterback hits, two tackles for loss, and two passes defensed, per Colts.com.
The Colts could use that disruptive ability now, as Clemons appeared in each of Indianapolis’ first two games before landing on injured reserve.
In the end, Curry’s placement behind Latu doesn't guarantee a major snap increase, particularly with Jaylahn Tuimoloau backing up Arden Key on the opposite side. More opportunities could be coming George Gumbs' way as well.
The depth-chart change, regardless, puts the rookie in position for his biggest regular-season opportunity yet as Indianapolis prepares for the Houston Texans.
