The Indianapolis Coltsare making a change on defense in Week 2.
Instead of safety Cam Bynum wearing the green dot and being the signal caller in Kansas City, that responsibility will now belong to linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither.
"Communication wasn't where it needed to be," Shane Steichen said, via Mike Chappell.
This player is tasked with receiving the incoming play calls from defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and then relaying them to the rest of the defense.

FS Cam Bynum wore it in Week 1.
The Colts would surrender over 500 yards of total offense to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, along with 41 points.
Both on the ground and through the air, Baltimore was able to generate
numerous explosive plays, and often the root cause behind that issue was poor communication on the Colts' end.
As ESPN's Stephen Holder noted, this change is more so due to the fact that it doesn't make sense logistically for Bynum to shoulder the green dot responsibility when he's often the deep single safety -- which complicates things. "It's not an indictment of Bynum," Holder posted on X.
While the Colts did rotate at linebacker in Week 1, with Bryce Boettcher and Jaylon Carlies both seeing steady playing time, Davis-Gaither was the constant at this position.
Davis-Gaither previously spent several years playing under Anarumo in Cincinnati, so he's very familiar with the defensive scheme as well.
