In a game that the Indianapolis Colts desperately needed to win, they surrendered a two-score second-half lead to the Tennessee Titans.
So with the clock now at zero, if you're up for it, let's take a look back at the Colts' performance.
- A huge second-half implosion by the Colts. Before Jonathan Taylor's rushing touchdown, the Colts' offense went fumble, interception, punt, blocked punt. The turnovers turned into 13 points for the Titans.
- The Colts are now 2-4 on the season, losing to the previously winless Titans. Next up are matchups with the 5-0 Vikings and the 4-2 Jaguars. Things could get worse in the coming weeks.
- Daniel Jones was under pressure often in this game, which made moving the ball via the passing game a lot more difficult.
- That said, that doesn't excuse the interceptions. This has been a problem just about all season for Jones. Turnovers are a big reason why the Colts lost.
- Jonathan Taylor had a productive day, totaling94 yardswith a score and averaging 4.5 yards per rush. But in the second half, that didn't turn into points for the offense.
- Despite losing, the Colts controlled the time of possession, holding the ball for over 15 minutes more than the Titans. Being efficient on third downs helped extend drives. But again, turnovers are the great equalizer.
- Special teams blunders didn't help either. A 58-yard return that set up a Titans touchdown and then a blocked punt that led to another score gifted 14 points to Tennessee.
- The Colts' red zone offense was so-so, converting 2 of 4 attempts into touchdowns. That didn't help them either.
- Another quiet game for the Colts' pass rush. Cam Ward wasn't sacked, and he was hit only once.
- Without Alec Pierce -- and not having Tyler Warren certainly didn't help -- moving the ball through the air consistently remains a chore for the Colts' offense.
- The Titans' offense totaled only 186 yards and averaged just 4.1 yards per play -- so it's not as if the Colts' defense struggled to contain that unit. But the Indianapolis offense, with the turnovers, didn't do the defense any favors, and ultimately, when a stop was needed late, the Colts allowed the go-ahead field goal.
