Looking to build upon last week's much-needed win, the Indianapolis Colts are now in London for a Week 4 matchup with the Washington Commanders.
Let's check in on who the experts have winning this game.
USA Today
The USA Today crew is giving two votes for the Commanders and one for the Colts. Here is why Adam Kaufman likes Indianapolis:
"The NFL's international series continues Sunday morning in London, where I expect a close Colts win. Jonathan Taylor draws a difficult matchup against a Washington run defense that has limited Saquon Barkley, Javonte Williams and Seattle's backs. But the Commanders have been far more vulnerable through the air, giving Daniel Jones a path to move the offense even without Alec Pierce. Marcus Mariota was excellent in Washington's
upset of Seattle. If he starts again, I'm reluctant to count on a repeat performance. Jayden Daniels is expected to practice this week, though, so the quarterback situation bears watching before kickoff."
CBS Sports
Pete Prisco is picking the Colts to narrowly win a high-scoring 31-30 game.
"Both teams won for the first time last week and now head to London to play this week. Then Colts defense showed improvement last week, while the Commanders defense made some big plays. Look for the Colts and Commanders to both score a lot, but it's the Colts who will win it late."
NFL.com
Most of the experts at NFL.com like the Colts in this one, with Indianapolis receiving four of the five votes. That said, here is why Jeremy Bergman believes the Commanders can win:
"With or without Jayden Daniels, Washington has a chance to give the Colts fits in London. Jonathan Taylor, Indy's main outlet for offensive production over the years, is facing a Commanders run defense that ranks third in the NFL through three weeks. Taylor is an international legend after last year's blistering Berlin showing, but he hasn't broken 100 yards in a game this season. Washington has been careful with the ball on offense, committing just one giveaway all year, while the Colts defense has been among the league's worst in terms of yards and points allowed but also takeaways (1). Both clubs are turning a corner after getting off the schneid in Week 3, but the Commanders are in a better place, even with their starting quarterback rehabbing another dislocated elbow."
ESPN
Over at ESPN, it's a clean sweep in favor of the Colts. ESPN's FPI prediction model also gives the Colts a 55% chance of winning this game.
Pro Football Talk
Mike Florio is picking the Commanders to win, 24-20.
"The Colts ended a long losing streak, thanks to a Texans team that still can’t find a way out of its early-season struggles. The Commanders stunned the defending Super Bowl champions, fueled by the kind of performance from Marcus Mariota that will keep Jayden Daniels on the bench until the 32-year-old former full-time starter cools off. Mariota may have at least one more in the tank."
