After moving on from GM Chris Ballard, the Indianapolis Colts announced that assistant GM Ed Dodds will lead the personnel department for the rest of the season.
Shane Steichen and the coaching staff will report directly to Colts' ownership.
“Ed Dodds will be leading our personnel department for the remainder of the season. Shane (Steichen) and football staff outside of personnel will report to ownership," it read in a statement via The Athletic's James Boyd.
Dodds has been with the Colts since 2017, when he was the Vice President of player personnel. In 2018, he became Chris Ballard’s assistant general manager and has held that title since then.
In recent years, he has drawn interest from other organizations for their GM openings. This includes
being a finalist for the Titans' job opening in 2025 and a finalist for the Panthers' GM job in 2024.
