After moving on from Chris Ballard, the Indianapolis Colts' first call was reportedly to Peyton Manning.
On the 'Dan Patrick Show,' Patrick read a text he received that stated the Colts' call to Manning was not only to get names of potential GM candidates, but to see if Manning would be interested in the role.
"The Colts' first call will be/has been to Peyton Manning," Patrick said. "The call will not only get names and suggestions, but the call will explore whether or not Peyton would be interested in being a general manager for the Colts as the entry point that would include ownership interest in the Colts."

Manning
hasn't held a front office role but remains involved in the game of football since retiring.
Patrick adds that in this scenario, Manning would be back in Indianapolis as a GM and part owner, and he would get to pick the team's next quarterback.
"So now all of a sudden, the community is going to love this, the league would love this, would Peyton love this?"
That's the big question.
