Sports Illustrated NFL insider Albert Breer recently highlighted where the Indianapolis Coltsand the rest of the NFL stand heading into the 2026 regular season.
And with that, Breer noted one potential concern that could derail the Colts' season.
But before getting to that point, Breer detailed what he likes about this Colts team, which included quite a few positives.
In short, Breer seems to believe that the Colts roster has the talent to be successful in 2026.
"I like a lot of things about the Colts," Breer began. "Shane Steichen is one of the sport’s best offensive architects, and Daniel Jones was playing great ball before he got hurt last season. Jonathan Taylor is one of the game’s best backs, and Tyler Warren is going to be a monster at tight
end. Alec Pierce and Josh Downs complement each other really well at receiver, the O-line should be better and Lou Anarumo is one of the game’s best defensive coordinators, and he has an elite secondary and a really solid defensive line to work with."
His issue, however, is with the Colts' depth at several positions.
As we saw during the preseason, the depth at pass rusher, cornerback, and along the offensive line are potential concerns for Indianapolis.
In a game where injuries are a part of the equation, the Colts are banking on being healthy this season, which comes with obvious risks.
"I’m concerned with their depth," wrote Breer. "An injury or two in the wrong spot and the context of the season could change completely, as could the future of some key people in the organization."
While there seems to be a path to success for this Colts team, the margin for error also seems to be quite thin.
