Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones could be a part of franchise history on Sunday, but for all the wrong reasons.
According to ESPN research, Jones has yet to throw two touchdowns in a game this season. The last Colts QB to do that was Chris Chandler all the way back in 1988.
Jones has struggled with turnovers this season, throwing six interceptions and losing three fumbles through the first six games. But in addition to that, his completion rate and yards per pass attempt have dipped significantly from last season.
In order for the Colts to turn this season around, that starts with Jones playing better.
However, he needs some additional help around him as well. The offensive line unit struggled against the Titans, the run game has been lackluster,
and without Alec Pierce, the wide receiver depth has been exposed.
If Jones is going to avoid tying Chandler's mark, he's going to have to overcome a very difficult test against the Vikings' defense. Led by defensive coordinator Brian Flores, this is an aggressive and blitz-heavy defense that creates disruption and turnovers with the best of them.
The Vikings are allowing a league-low 12.8 points per game.
