With trade speculation swirling, how many snaps did Jonathan Taylor play in the Indianapolis Colts'Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars?
Coming into this game, it had been reported by Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport that trade talks were "ongoing and active."
Schefter also added that the Colts are seeking a Christian McCaffrey-like trade package, referencing the deal that sent him from Carolina to San Francisco in 2022.
The Colts, however, still planned to play Taylor against the Jaguars as they would any other week. According toPFF, Taylor played 38 of the 61 offensive snaps. Fellow running backs Seth McGowan and DJ Giddens played 15 snaps and eight snaps, respectively.
While Taylor finished the game with only eight carries for 23 yards,
that was likely more so due to how the game unfolded. With the Colts trailing by multiple scores early on, they weren't able to lean on the run game and became pass-heavy.
Then, with the game out of hand late, Taylor didn't need to be on the field.
With this loss, speculation around Taylor's future with the team will only continue to heat up.
