Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen is sticking behind Daniel Jones despite a jagged performance from his quarterback.
Jones committed two turnovers in Sunday’s 30-13 win over the Washington Commanders in London, giving him seven total turnovers through four games. He completed 19 of 34 passes for 143 yards and also scored on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Asked after the game to assess Jones' play, Steichen focused on the positives while acknowledging there is much to clean up.
“I think he’s done some really good things and then some things we need to clean up,” Steichen said, via James Boyd of The Athletic. “But he’s made some big-time throws. ... I think he’s doing a good job.”

Jones’ ball security remains the biggest worry.
Indianapolis finished the first half with two turnovers and averaged just 3.4 yards per play, yet still carried a 10-6 lead into halftime. The Colts eventually pulled away behind Jonathan Taylor and their defense to improve to 2-2.
The Colts now return home with consecutive wins, even though Jones finished without a passing touchdown and has four total touchdowns against seven turnovers this season.
