Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Laquon Treadwell has spent much of the latter portion of his NFL career fighting to stick on rosters.
That made his latest accomplishment especially meaningful.
Treadwell, a 2016 first-round pick, made the Colts’ initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season. He told The Athletic’s James Boyd
that it marked the first time in seven years he had survived the initial round of roster cuts.“Me and my family, we just keep knocking at the door every year. So, this year to make it, it means the most. I don’t take it for granted.”

Treadwell has bounced between active rosters and practice squads throughout that stretch. He initially joined Indianapolis in 2024 but began each of his first two seasons with the organization on the practice squad.
The Colts eventually promoted him to the active roster in November 2025. He appeared in 10 games last season and carved out a role primarily on special teams, recording eight special teams stops across 141 snaps.
Indianapolis re-signed Treadwell in March, and the 31-year-old earned one of six receiver spots on the initial 2026 roster.
After years of having to work his way back onto active rosters, Treadwell will finally begin this season there.
