As we continue to take a look back at theIndianapolis Colts' Week 2 performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, let's highlight some noteworthy snap count figures.
For the most part, when it comes to playing time, there aren't many huge surprises, but each week, particularly early on, there are a few things we can glean.
With help from PFF, here are a few quick notes from the Colts' snap count totals from Week 2.
What happened at linebacker this week?
The rotation at linebacker was mostly the same. Akeem Davis-Gaither and Jaylon Carlies started, while Bryce Boettcher was rotated in. Davis-Gaither played 75 of the 80 defensive snaps, Carlies played 50 snaps, and Boettcher played 22 snaps. This week, CJ Allen did see a few reps, playing six snaps. This position group has struggled through
two games.
More snaps for Hunter Wohler
After not seeing any defensive snaps in Week 1, Wohler played 42 snaps in Kansas City, while AJ Haulcy played 37. While Haulcy got the start, it was a rough showing, which included missing four tackles.
Wide receiver and tight end usage
Without Alec Pierce for much of the game, the Colts went heavy with their two tight end sets. In addition to Tyler Warren playing 58 of the 65 offensive snaps, Mo Alie-Cox played 19 snaps, and Drew Ogletree played 17 snaps. Laquon Treadwell's 48 snaps were the second-most at wide receiver -- behind only Josh Downs -- while Keenan Allen played 33 snaps.
