Former Indianapolis Coltscornerback Kenny Moore II remains unsigned ahead of Week 1.
And as Moore II is still searching for his next NFL home with the regular season approaching, former All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore is astonished that the veteran is available.

on Thursday night, adding that Moore has “been the best nickel in the league for awhile now.”

Gilmore, another former Colts cornerback, knows what it's like to linger on the market. The five-time Pro Bowler became a free agent after spending the 2023 season with the Dallas Cowboys and was unsigned until August 2024, when he joined the Minnesota Vikings.
Back to Moore, there's still no indication that a deal is imminent, as he's as an unrestricted free agent nearly four months after his departure from Indianapolis.
The Colts released Moore on May 7 after the two sides were unable to find a trade partner. Moore had requested a trade in April after spending nine seasons in Indianapolis.
His impressive career spans nine years from 2017 through 2025. The 2021 Pro Bowler started 111 of 132 games for the Colts and recorded 21 interceptions, four defensive touchdowns, 11.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.
Moore, who turned 31 on Aug. 23, said in June that he was looking for the right “culture” and scheme and wanted an opportunity to compete for a winner.
With roster movement picking up ahead of Week 1, Moore is one of the most experienced defensive backs available.
