Will Jonathan Taylor play in the Indianapolis Colts' Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars?
After the Colts traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner early in the week, initial reports suggested that the Colts would prefer to keep Taylor as part of their rebuild.
However, on Saturday, Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported that Indianapolis is "open to trading" Taylor and that conversations are "active and ongoing."
Will Jonathan Taylor play vs. the Jaguars?
According to ESPN's Stephen Holder, as of Saturday, even with the trade speculation swirling around Taylor, the plan was for him to play in this game.
"As of now, Jonathan Taylor IS playing tomorrow," Holder posted on X. "No deal is imminent and I imagine they want to send the message that they are willing to keep him (which
I do believe is true)."

One would guess that this situation will remain fluid between now and the Nov. 10 trade deadline, depending on how those "ongoing" trade conversations go.
Tom Pelissero reported on Saturday that the Colts have turned down a trade package that included a 2027 second-round pick plus an additional selection, making it clear that they want a "premium" if they're going to move on from Taylor.
Jonathan Taylor's 2026 season stats
Taylor continues to be one of the most productive backs in football, totaling 587 yards with eight rushing touchdowns. He doesn't have a 100-yard game this season, but has hit the 90-yard mark in five of seven games.
