TheIndianapolis Colts are in the midst of a turnover problem that has plagued their disappointing 2-5 start.
Indianapolis has a minus-9 turnover differential through Week 7, the worst in the NFL, according to Next Gen Stats.
The Colts have also gone 12 consecutive games without finishing with a positive turnover margin, the longest active streak in the league.
As Colts On SI's Noah Compton noted Monday, the drought is the franchise's longest since a 13-game stretch spanning the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
The #Colts have the worst turnover margin (-9) in the NFL after Week 7, having gone 12 consecutive games without winning the turnover margin, according to @NextGenStats. This is the longest active streak in the league & the longest for Indy since a 13-game
stretch in 1998-99.

That trend continued in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, when quarterback Daniel Jones threw an interception, and Indianapolis failed to force a takeaway.
Jones' pass was intercepted by veteran safety Harrison Smith with just over a minute remaining, ending the Colts' last shot to complete a comeback.
Indianapolis had taken a 10-6 halftime lead behind Jonathan Taylor's 38-yard touchdown run, but its offense was shut out over the final two quarters.
Jones finished 13 of 22 for 108 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception as the Colts suffered their third consecutive defeat.
The turnover struggles are worrisome for head coach Shane Steichen, whose team has repeatedly stumbled when needing to swing close games.
Indianapolis will look to reverse that pattern when it clashes with the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.
