As part of ESPN's preview of the Indianapolis Coltsand Baltimore Ravens Week 1 matchup, analyst Seth Walder has made a bold prediction that centers around running back Jonathan Taylor.
Only this time, the prediction doesn't have anything to do with Taylor's impact in the run game.
Instead, Walder predicts that Taylor will be active in the passing game, totaling at least four receptions in Sunday's contest.
"Last season, no team ran more zone coverage than the Chargers under then-defensive coordinator Jesse Minter," Walder wrote. "Now, he's coaching the Ravens. And RBs record receptions against zone at a much higher rate than against man."
Last season against Minter's LA Chargers' defense, Taylor recorded three receptions in that game. Overall in 2025,
there was a greater emphasis on getting Taylor involved in the passing game as he went on to total a career-high 54 targets and 46 receptions, per PFF.
Not only does getting Taylor involved in the passing game get him the ball in space where his playmaking potential is on display, but it also becomes another element that opposing defenses have to account for.
