The Indianapolis Colts may have found their offensive identity through the first four games of the 2026 season.
NFL analyst Shawn Syed highlighted a remarkable split in Indianapolis’ offensive efficiency on Monday. According to SumerSports, the Colts rank No. 1 in the NFL in EPA per designed rush but 30th in EPA per dropback through Week 4.

Syed added that Indianapolis has the third-largest gap favoring rushing efficiency of any NFL team through four weeks since 2016.
That disparity was on display during the Colts’ 30-13 victory over the Washington
Commanders on Sunday. Indianapolis generated +0.28 EPA per designed run while finishing at minus-0.37 EPA per dropback, via PerThirtySix.com.
Jonathan Taylor is the engine of the offense, rushing for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Daniel Jones, meanwhile, completed 19 of 31 passes for 184 yards and committed two turnovers.
Indianapolis improved to 2-2 despite the up-and-down offensive profile.
