The Indianapolis Coltsnotched their first win of the 2026 season on Sunday, brining their record to 1-2 on the season.
However, despite still being below the .500 mark, the Colts find themselves in second place in the early AFC South division race.
The Colts are coming off a crucial division win over the Houston Texans, who were also 0-2 entering that contest. The Tennessee Titans failed to come through late against the New York Giants, which dropped them to 0-3 on the season as well.
Leading the division are the Jacksonville Jaguars. Following a Week 2 loss to Denver, the Jaguars bounced back in a big way with a 35-6 victory over the New England Patriots. Jacksonville is now 2-1 on the season.
With the Jaguars and Titans not yet having played a division
game yet, the Colts are the only team with an AFC South victory at this point in the season. When it comes to potential tie-breakers down the road, division record is often crucial.
Despite the shaky start through two games, the current division standings are a good example of how there is still a long way to go in the season.
