Uncertainty surrounds the Indianapolis Colts' organization after the team moved on from GM Chris Ballard on Monday, and that includes Daniel Jones' future with the team.
Although Jones signed a two-year, $88 million deal just this offseason, if the new GM wants to move on from him, he can do so and still save $11.6 million in cap space, according to Over the Cap.
On Wednesday, Jones was asked if he's thought about his future as the Colts' QB following Ballard's firing.
“I think the biggest thing for me is playing good football, like it is with all of us in this locker room," Jones said, via The Athletic's James Boyd. "Like I said earlier, I don’t think it’s the time to think about that, think too far ahead. I don’t think we can afford to do that.
I think we've gotta play good football this week. We've gotta prepare, practice well, and be ready to go on Sunday. That's the approach I'm taking and we're all taking that approach."

Turnovers have been a major issue for Jones this season, who has thrown six interceptions and lost several fumbles. But going beyond the giveaways, Jones hasn't been as sharp this season either compared to last.
Through six games, he's completing just 59% of his throws and is averaging 5.9 yards per pass attempt, after averaging 8.1 yards per throw in 2025. Poor decisions and off-target passes have been a part of the equation as well.
That said, it's not as if conditions around Jones have been great either. The offensive line unit struggled against the Titans, the run game has been lackluster, and without Alec Pierce, the wide receiver depth has been exposed.
If the Colts are going to have any chance of turning this season around, it starts with Jones' play improving.
