Now three games into the 2026 NFL season, how has the Indianapolis Colts' 2026 rookie draft class performed up to this point?
Let's take a closer look at each player.
LB CJ Allen
Allen's role on defense is no longer non-existent -- as was the case in Week 1 -- but it remains quite small. He has played just 11 defensive snaps over the last two games. While Jaylon Carlies and Bryce Boettcher rotate at linebacker, Allen is listed behind Akeem Davis-Gaither at the MIKE linebacker position, and with Davis-Gaither wearing the green dot, that's not a role that is going to be rotated. So as of now, it's difficult to see how Allen's snap count will expand.
S AJ Haulcy
Haulcy has started all three games at strong safety, however, his play has been quite up and down. Missed tackles
have been an issue, while he's surrendering 16.2 yards per catch in coverage on five receptions. He and Hunter Wohler appear to be splitting time next to Cam Bynum.
G Jalen Farmer
Farmer is the first guard option off the bench for the Colts. He has not played any offensive snaps, but has played 15 on the field goal protection unit.
LB Bryce Boettcher
As mentioned, Boettcher has been rotating at linebacker with Carlies, playing roughly 20 or so snaps per game on defense. Boettcher has been a sound tackler in the run game and has limited pass-catchers to 10.0 yards per reception in coverage. He's had a fairly heavy special teams role as well.
DE George Gumbs Jr.
Gumbs Jr. has been a healthy scratch all three games.
DE Caden Curry
Curry has played just 19 defensive snaps over the first three games. With Micheal Clemons on IR, perhaps he'll see more opportunities moving forward. Curry's greatest impact has come on special teams, where he's played 55 snaps.
RB Seth McGowan
McGowan is the Colts' backup RB behind Jonathan Taylor. He's carried the ball six times for just 14 yards. Like many of the other rookies, most of his snaps have come on special teams. McGowan has also had seven kick return attempts, averaging 31.7 yards per return.
WR Deion Burks
Burks has played 13 total snaps on offense, with no targets coming his way. He's also played just nine special teams snaps, mostly contributing on the punt coverage unit.
