TheIndianapolis Colts are now one step closer to being sellers at the NFL trade deadline.
Although the Colts entered Sunday's game against Minnesota at 2-4 on the season and had just fired GM Chris Ballard, multiple reports suggested that Indianapolis wanted to attempt to turn the season around and weren't going to immediately begin selling ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
Before those decisions were made, the Colts wanted to see if they could reel off some wins over the next few weeks.
However, following Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Vikings, the odds of saving the season have now become even less likely than they were with Indianapolis now at 2-5. Awaiting the Colts in Week 8 is a matchup in Jacksonville, where they haven't won in over a decade.
If the Colts do continue down this path and end up selling at the trade deadline as they look to the future, ESPN's Adam Schefter and the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently highlighted five players who could beon the move, including Jonathan Taylor and DeForest Buckner.
This year's NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10.
