The Indianapolis Colts are back at home in Week 6, searching for a needed win against the Tennessee Titans.
While these division rivals have had plenty of matchups over the years, no NFL team is the same from one year to the next. So for some insight into the 2026 Titans, Mark Mihalko of Titans Wire answered a handful of our questions.
How has Cam Ward performed this year compared to last?
Titans Wire: "Ward definitely isn’t the player who finished the 2025 season strong, and he's been up and down early in the season. There have been flashes of the player who improved throughout his rookie season, but it’s hard to tell whether it’s Ward, the new scheme, or the playcalling. One significant factor is the lack of a running game, which came on strong at the end of 2025. The Titans’ offense has been out of sync
all season, and until they identify the root cause, it won’t improve."
What has gone well for the Titans this year?
Titans Wire: "Outside of last week against Houston, the offensive line (except Dan Moore) has been the season's surprise. Right tackle JC Latham is playing at a very high level and is starting to look like the player Tennessee envisioned when they selected him in the first round in 2024. Unfortunately, the Titans lost starting right guard Fernando Carmona and his top backup, Jackson Slater, to the Giants in Week 3, and are rebuilding continuity with veteran Atonio Mafi. They played well against Baltimore in Week 4, but fell off a cliff (especially Moore) against the Texans."
What is the Titans' biggest weakness?
Titans Wire: "Two weaknesses have plagued them all season: a lack of offensive identity and inconsistent cornerback play on defense.
"Offensively, they don’t do much well, and inconsistent, often predictable play calling has hurt their chances, especially in the first half, where the offense has struggled even more than the overall stats show. Unless they can find an identity, it will be a long season.
"The Titans' two starting corners, Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott, have struggled all season and haven’t made the plays needed to make a difference. Tennessee invested heavily in the position during the offseason, but the results have been underwhelming."
Who is an under-the-radar player to know?
Titans Wire: "Safety Tony Adams often goes unnoticed, but the veteran has stepped in and added quality to the defense. Against Houston in Week 5, he started with Amani Hooker in concussion protocol, and this week he will get another start filling in for Kevin Winston Jr.
"He is smart, understands the defensive scheme, and can play free and make plays. He led the Titans in tackles against the Texans and should play a key role if the defense wants to slow down Jonathan Taylor."
Prediction: Who wins and why?
Titans Wire: "I believe the game will be closer than many expect. Tennessee came out strong against Philadelphia and almost pulled off an upset after bouncing back from the Week 1 debacle against the New York Jets, and they could do the same this week.
"Divisional matchups are always tough, and I see the same thing this week, with the Colts pulling off a 20-17 win. It could go either way, but until Tennessee proves it can be consistent on all three phases or play complementary football and finish, it will keep coming up short."
