Throughout training camp, it sure seemed like running back Ulysses Bentley was in a position to make the Indianapolis Colts'53-man roster.
However, on cutdown day, he was released. On Monday, Bentley was then signed to the practice squad.
But one day later, he was released from there.
The Colts announcedon Tuesday that the team signed running back Davon Booth and guard Reid Holskey to the practice squad. To make room, the team released Bentley.
Bentley's emergence over the summer seemed to give him a legitimate chance of making the initial 53-man roster as the third running back. He was particularly good as a receiving option out of the backfield, giving Indianapolis an added pass-catching element at the running back position, something this offense
arguably could use more of.
But instead, he is now a free agent who can sign elsewhere.
Booth went undrafted this past April and was with the Cleveland Browns during training camp. He made 25 starts over his final two seasons at Mississippi State.
Holskey went undrafted in 2025 and spent his rookie year on the Giants and Texans practice squads. This summer, he was with Denver. He's an experienced collegiate player, making 53 starts at Miami (OH).
