Ahead of theIndianapolis Colts' Week 1 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, the team has released its first unofficial depth chart of the 2026 regular season.
Here are four observations from it.
Seth McGowan is the backup running back
This doesn't come as a surprise, but it confirms what we saw throughout the summer. With DJ Giddens missing time due to injury, McGowan took the bulk of the RB2 reps and capitalized on those opportunities.
Defensive end rotation
Laiatu Latu and Arden Key are the starters, and the next two players up in that rotation are Jaylahn Tuimoloau and Micheal Clemons, which again is not a surprise, given how the summer unfolded. That said, I do wonder if, as the season goes on, George Gumbs and/or Caden Curry could push for larger roles. It was a quiet preseason for Tuimoloau and Clemons.
Starting linebackers
As Lou Anarumo mentioned on Tuesday, Akeem Davis-Gaither and Jaylon Carlies are the two starting linebackers. He did, however, also mention that the Colts could rotate players and that playing time will constantly be evaluated.
Starting strong safety
AJ Haulcy is listed as the Colts' starting strong safety, which is expected after watching training camp and the preseason unfold. He brings impressive ball skills and versatility to the Colts' secondary. That said, his status for Sunday isup in the airat this time.
