Indianapolis Coltsrunning back Jonathan Taylor already owns elite NFL scoring numbers.
An additional productive season could put him alongside three of the greatest running backs ever.
Taylor enters 2026 with 69 career rushing touchdowns and needs 11 more to become only the fourth player in NFL history with at least 80 before turning 28, per ESPN.
The other three are Emmitt Smith, who scored 108 before age 28, LaDainian Tomlinson with 100 and Jim Brown with 82.
"Taylor has become a prolific scorer, and there's nothing to suggest that changes with his career pace and the Colts' 2026 playmakers," ESPN's NFL Nation noted.
Taylor turns 28 on Jan. 19, 2027, giving him the entire regular season to reach the mark.
Eleven touchdowns this year isn't an unrealistic
target.
Taylor scored a career-high-tying 18 rushing touchdowns in 2025 while producing 1,585 yards on 323 carries. He has averaged 11.5 rushing touchdowns over his first six NFL seasons. His career totals also include 7,598 rushing yards and a 4.9-yard average.
ESPN highlighted Taylor’s ability to generate yards through contact as a cause to believe the milestone is within reach. He led the NFL with 835 yards after contact last season.
Barring injury, it's certainly possible that he notches enough rushing TDs to put himself in an echelon filled with Hall of Famers.
