As we continue to take a look back at theIndianapolis Colts' Week 3 performance against the Houston Texans, let's highlight some noteworthy snap count figures.
For the most part, when it comes to playing time, there aren't many huge surprises, but each week, particularly early on, there are a few things we can glean.
With help from PFF, here are a few quick notes from the Colts' snap count totals from Week 3.
Colts plan at WR without Alec Pierce
We know that Josh Downs and Keenan Allen will, of course, continue to play major roles, and this week, alongside that duo, was mostly Laquon Treadwell. In fact, Treadwell's 56 snaps were the most among all Colts' wide receivers. Deion Burks would play 10 snaps, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine played one. Darius Slayton was inactive after signing
earlier in the week. We will see how his presence impacts Treadwell's workload.
How does Adetomiwa Adebawore see the field more?
Adebawore had a disruptive day, totaling four pressures, including two sacks, according to PFF. However, he played a modest 15 snaps. Jerry Tillery would play 26 snaps and Tim Smith 10 snaps. While Tillery sees the field during more running situations and Adebawore during more pass-obvious situations, which can dictate playing time, one would think that Lou Anarumo should find more ways to get Adebawore on the field. It was another quiet game for Tillery.
Colts' linebacker rotation
The playing time here looks similar to what it did in the previous games. Akeem Davis-Gaither is a constant on the field while Jaylon Carlies and Bryce Boettcher rotate -- although Carlies saw twice as many snaps. CJ Allen's role remains small, with him playing just five snaps.
