The Indianapolis Colts didn't get the outcome they wanted in Week 1, and Daniel Jones’ return to the field drew a relatively measured review.
Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski
gave Jones a C for his performance in Indianapolis’ 41-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Jones completed 19 of 31 passes for 166 yards, with one touchdown and one interception in his first regular-season action since suffering an Achilles tendon tear in December 2025.“A slight silver lining may exist, though,” Sobleski wrote.
Sobleski pointed to Jones being back on the field nine months after the injury and noted the Colts leaned heavily on shotgun formations and quick throws, interpreting that approach as a sign Indianapolis was trying to limit stress on Jones’ previously
injured leg.
He also wrote that Jones “didn’t appear drastically limited” despite the controlled game plan.
The Colts’ offense started well with a touchdown drive but struggled to keep pace after Baltimore took control. Jones’ lone touchdown pass went to tight end Tyler Warren, while Jonathan Taylor scored twice on the ground.
Facing a Week 2 road matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, Jones has a second chance to show progress after an uneven but not terrible first step back.
