The Indianapolis Colts are 2-3 through five games, and ESPN analyst Ben Solak believes it may be time to get Anthony Richardson Sr. involved.
In his Week 6 observations for ESPN, Solak put forth a notable suggestion for Indianapolis.
“The Colts should play Anthony Richardson Sr.,” Solak wrote.
Solak pointed to Daniel Jones’ declining arm strength and argued Richardson’s ability as a runner could give the Colts’ offense a playmaking element.
Jones has completed 108 of 176 passes for 1,021 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions through five games. His 73.6 passer rating is well below the 100.2 mark he posted for Indianapolis in 2025.
Jones is coming off a 34-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in which he completed 24 of 44 passes for 267 yards
without a touchdown or interception.
Richardson, meanwhile, earned the Colts’ backup quarterback job before the season after competing with Riley Leonard. The former No. 4 overall pick has yet to attempt a regular-season pass in 2026.
Solak stopped short of specifically saying Indianapolis should bench Jones indefinitely and start Richardson. But his thought dumps fuel on the quarterback conversation as the Colts prepare to host the Tennessee Titans in Week 6.
